One-on-One with Tom Benson, Owner & President, New Orleans Saints

The defining traits of Tom Benson’s tenure as owner of the New Orleans Saints have been simple – focus all of his efforts and resources on bringing fans what has been unprecedented success on the football field, and support his hometown and the entire region by investing in the community. Benson has understood, purchasing the club in 1985, that the Saints are part of the fabric of the Gulf South, a cornerstone of the region economically, and he has made them a leader in charitable causes. In this interview, Benson will discuss his vision of what an NFL club should be on and off the field, as well as discuss his team’s run through the 2009 season and the Saints’ 31-17 defeat of the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV.

One-on-One with Paul Tagliabue, Senior of Counsel, Covington & Burling LLP
Much is known about Paul Tagliabue’s career with the NFL. As commissioner, he led the NFL from 1989 to 2006 and presided over an extended period of labor peace and revenue growth in professional football. During his tenure, the league grew from 28 to 32 teams, secured the largest television contracts in entertainment history and supported construction of more than 20 NFL team stadiums. But less well known are the years Tagliabue spent as a policy analyst in the U.S. Defense Department or his extensive travel around the world where he has engaged in business, higher education and public policy discussions.
